How to Naturally Prevent and Treat Malaria Attacks

Malaria over time is said to be about the greatest singular killer disease up till date. And today, the US through its foreign assistance agency, USAID is beginning to carry out plans aimed at eliminating the malaria scourge from Nigeria. Kick-starting the process recently in a forum held to set the ball rolling, the Deputy Inspector General in charge of the American supported Malarial Control Programme in Africa in USAID, Mr. Jonathan Schofield, addressed the Nigerian public on how they plan partner the Nigerian government to win the anti-malaria war.

From available statistics, it is believed that Nigeria records about 100 million malaria cases with about 300,000 deaths each year. This is very alarming and it is why perhaps the National Malaria Elimination Programme (NMEP) has adopted a strategic plan to ensure total elimination of malaria (a disease transmitted through the bite of the female anopheles mosquito laden with plasmodium parasite) in Nigeria by 2020.

Furthermore, as part of the American government’s determination towards eliminating malaria in Nigeria, anti-malaria drugs, and insecticide treated bed nets bearing the USAID brand are being distributed free of charge to the public. And in a bid to nip in the bud the activities of some nefarious groups or individuals, Schofield urged Nigerians to report any case of stealing or diversion of funds or donated anti-malaria materials which have come through the American government through a dedicated telephone line.

And in the words of Dr. Perpetua Uhomoibhi, a top official of the Federal Ministry of Health while recently addressing health correspondents in Lagos, said, “Our national elimination programme strategic plan now is focusing on bringing the malaria burden to pre-elimination level by 2020,” as well as reducing the malaria death to zero by that time.

What to do
·         Remove all stagnant water around your neighbourhood
·         Clear the gutters and drainages around where you live
·         Sleep under mosquito bed net
·         Net your windows and possibly your doors, to keep mosquitoes away
·         Eat lots of fruits and vegetables to bolster your immune system

But if you already have the malaria fever, you may very well use Cinnamon to treat your malaria. Boil one teaspoon of powdered cinnamon with a pinch of ground pepper, and add one teaspoon of honey. Take it everyday

Also, you can boil Ginger root (an active anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial herb) and make tea with it; you may add honey as well. Take this everyday and it will greatly build your immunity and speed up recovery.
