LIVING FOODS: (You Are What You Eat)



At every point in time it has been resolved amongst health nutrition experts that you are what you eat. Your total well-being is invariably dependent on your nutritional life style or the lack of it. It is not about starving yourself to keep fit; it is also not about whether you are eating little or much quantity of food, but the quality of what you eat and the basic nutritional value and content of what you put into your system is very vital to how your physical health, and even your emotional health tends to turn out. We all need to take what I will call living foods.

Hippocrates (circa 460-377 BC), the ancient Greek physician also known as the father of (modern) western medicine once said you should – ‘Let your food be your medicine, and your medicine, your food’. So, from centuries ago, it has been already established by health and nutritional experts that foods can never be totally supplemented or replaced by drugs in the scheme of things concerning our health and total well being. A lot of raw foods like fruits and vegetables eaten raw in addition to our regular cooked foods will go a long way. Living foods are medicine most of the time. 


The import of this is that pharmaceutical drugs or synthetic medicament have always proven in the long run to be rather injurious to your overall system due to their chemical components. Hence sometimes these products are rightly labelled as poisons. Your food and drink is therefore the best and safest means of achieving healing and wellness especially in the long run. Here is your daily nutritional guide with attention to living food dietary habits:

1.    What you eat can either help you to maintain a proper and standard weight that is meant for you, while it can also make you to put on unnecessary weight. Therefore it is a fact of life that those seeking to gain weight or lose weight can simply achieve this by the nutritional choices that they make.

2.    It is very important to note that what you eat can lead you to developing diabetes while you can also enable your body to prevent or even fight this same disease if you have contracted it already. Thus your insulin production can be enabled by the virtue of making the right choice of foods and drinks. You can right away help your system in this direction by consuming foods that are rich in fibre all the time.

5.    Cucumber for instance may not be very tasty, but if you are a victim of indigestion and, or constipation, then you better become friends with it; Grapefruits may not have a totally sweet after taste, but every diabetic must be close to this wonderful citrus fruit all the time. Also, a sweaty bottle of Cola may be refreshing to the taste buds, but I tell you, if you are diabetic you have got to run away from it.

6.    Your body is made up of about 75% water, so what are you sitting there and denying yourself a good drink for? You’d better drink up, and plenty of it too. Try water therapy: When you get up early in the morning, take a good drink of ordinary water first thing and you would be happy in the end for it. This is the best drink in the world, and certainly the first among living foods and drinks I dare say.

Also, you must learn to give a higher preference or profile to certain foods and drinks than others depending on what foods your body requires the most. Thus your state of well-being, your skin texture, your posture, your weight, state of mind, your immune status, and even your physical and mental strengths are all influenced by, and largely dependent on what you take in. Observe to be guided by this understanding, and then you would be perfectly able to control what you eat as well as what becomes of you.
