The Healing Powers of Olive Oil

Olive Oil is first and foremost one of the numerous forms of edible oil; it is indeed a vegetable oil squeezed out of olive. Olive oil is not ‘anointing oil’ per se as most Nigerian religionists are wont to label it. But rather, olive oil is medicinal and has been used since ancient times in the treatment of ailments and for the promotion of general good health and wellbeing. Olive oil is mainly used in salad dressing and many other forms of dietary preparations. 

It is sometimes also used in various forms of cookery, but when doing so, you are advised not to overheat the oil because the fatty acids therein can be sensitive to very high temperatures. And so, it is better consumed raw so that you will be able to enjoy the full benefits olive oil has to offer.

Healing benefits: Olive oil has been found to be able to reduce the risk of heart disease; it prevents unnecessary blood clotting which otherwise can lead to heart attacks and strokes, while improving the function of the lining of the blood vessels. Olive oil also has the capability to lower your blood pressure thereby preventing the danger of you contracting hypertension.

The oil contains antioxidants and oleic acids that are anti-inflammatory, and fight free radicals and diseases. The best quality type of original olive oil is pure and 100% natural; it is usually extracted naturally and not with the aid of any chemical means. It is also not mixed (diluted) with any other oils.
